Canopius underwrites direct and facultative Construction and Engineering risks from our London offices and at our Lloyd's box. The portfolio comprises Contractors All Risks and Erection All Risks (including Public Liability, Advance Loss of Profits, Contractors Plant and Existing Property), Machinery Breakdown and Business Interruption.

This account focuses on project-specific risks for clients and contractors on a worldwide basis and in all segments of onshore activities including Infrastructure (e.g. roads, utilities etc.); Buildings (e.g. offices, hospitals, prisons etc.); Power Generation and Petrochemical Construction.

This business is written through Lloyd's brokers, and we work closely with our intermediaries to provide products appropriate to their distribution channels and customer requirements. Canopius employs a specialist Construction and Engineering team which enables us to take a leading role in the market, providing the required critical experience and knowledge to meet the complex needs of our targeted clients.

Canopius also underwrites engineering reinsurance on both a proportional and excess of loss treaty basis. Other related classes written include marine construction, offshore energy construction and project cargo relating to the construction industry.
