Canopius Underwriting Agencies

The Underwriting Agencies division presently consists of two businesses in which Canopius holds a strategic ownership interest. These Agencies underwrite on behalf of Syndicate 4444 as well as third parties.

Canopius Group holds a 55% shareholding in Arista Insurance Limited. Arista Insurance Limited underwrites property, liability and motor insurance for the UK SME sector through a regional branch network. The motor products are underwritten by a third party.

Arista Insurance Limited is an appointed representative of Canopius Managing Agents Limited which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

Canopius Group also holds a 75% shareholding in Resource Underwriting Pacific Pty Ltd. This company, domiciled in Australia, underwrites professional indemnity and directors' and officers' insurance in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

Michael Watson, Chairman, Canopius Group, is responsible for the Underwriting Agencies division.
