Careers with Canopius
We are Canopius. We are a dynamic independent (re)insurance company with a strong presence both at Lloyd’s in London and across the globe. We are backed by private equity owners with a large asset base that enables us to capitalise on the ever changing market. We write a wide variety of insurance and reinsurance business.
We indemnify our clients and aim to get them back into the same position they were in before they had their loss. This covers a wide variety of eventualities from helping rebuild buildings in California after a large earthquake, through ensuring that the construction of an offshore wind-farm can continue, to assisting our clients to return safely from a kidnap situation.
We want to be the best and we want our teams to have a sense of ownership of the business. To do that, we encourage teams and departments to collaborate to come up with new exciting products and innovative ideas. We are open to staff moving between teams and global offices to experience a variety of approaches and business cultures. Our staff tell us that they feel their opinions are valued and acted on. We believe in diversity and try to reflect the ethnic and gender mix of our communities and clients across our offices.
As we are privately held, our approach can be more flexible than if we were bound by big corporate structures and we can act quickly and decisively. We challenge the prevailing wisdom and ask questions to make sure we are offering a product that truly meets our clients’ expectations; we don’t follow the herd.
Canopius is proud to be an Equal Opportunities employer. We will use appropriate job descriptions, objective assessment methods and we will actively consider all applicants regardless of their age, gender, trans-gender status, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marital status, civil partnership status, pregnancy, race, colour, nationality, national or ethnic origins and disability. Canopius believes in fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, where we encourage people to bring their full selves to work.
