CANOPIUS ADDS TO RAPIDLY GROWING CASUALTY OFFERING WITH TREATY REINSURANCE HIRE

LONDON — May 12, 2023 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty (re)insurer, today announced the appointment of Philip Weston as Casualty Treaty Underwriter. Philip will report to Paul Western, Head of US Casualty Treaty, who joined Canopius in June 2022.

Philip has 30 years of London market experience in both International and North American casualty treaty reinsurance business. He joins Canopius after more than 20 years at Faraday Syndicate, where he was most recently Head of International Casualty.

The arrival of Philip marks the latest in a suite of hires to Canopius’ expanding direct and reinsurance casualty proposition. His appointment follows that of David Mutton as Casualty Underwriter in the newly launched Melbourne office in March.
