Chicago, 15 July 2026 — Canopius Group, a leading global Specialty and P&C (re)insurer, today announces that Melanie M. Brown will join the business as Head of US Claims.
Melanie will be joining effect from 3 August 2026. She will report to the incoming Canopius Group Chief Claims Officer Steve Parry.
Melanie brings extensive experience in claims management across specialty, P&C, and reinsurance businesses. She most recently served as Head of Complex and Specialty Claims at Munich Re Specialty North America, where she oversaw strategy on managing high-exposure claims and driving initiatives to enhance claims performance and efficiency. Prior to this, Melanie held senior claims leadership roles at Markel.
In her new role, Melanie will lead Canopius’ US claims function, ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes for policyholders and brokers while reinforcing Canopius’ commitment to disciplined claims management.
