Chicago – 5 May 2025 – Canopius, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, announced today the appointment of Neetu Varghese as Head of Marine, U.S.
Ms. Varghese assumes the role after having served as National Cargo Manager since joining Canopius in 2023.
Ms. Varghese’s appointment marks the latest milestone in the company’s strategic expansion in the U.S. marine insurance market, and reaffirms its commitment to providing innovative, reliable, and comprehensive solutions that meet the complex needs of Canopius’ marine clients across the country.

Ms. Varghese brings over 20 years of experience to the role. Before joining Canopius, she served as Ocean Cargo Underwriting Director at RLI Insurance Company. Prior to that, she worked at CNA Insurance in a variety of roles, departing as Marine Underwriting Director.
