Young Talent Report: Listening to Tomorrow’s Leaders
At Canopius we are dedicated to championing young talent and fostering their growth within the insurance industry. We recognise that the future leaders of our market are not just the decision-makers of tomorrow; they are the innovators who will drive change.

By creating this downloadable report in the APAC region, we aim to gather insights from young professionals about their perspectives on the insurance landscape and the factors influencing their career choices.
To truly encourage young talent to join us, we must challenge the status quo and actively seek ways to evolve. This requires a commitment to stop and assess our current practices and identify areas for improvement. By engaging with their insights, we can create an environment that not only attracts talent but also empowers them to contribute meaningfully to our industry.
Together, we can move our market onwards and upwards.

Report Highlights
31% voted salary and benefits as the most important factor influencing their career choice, with job stability coming in second place (17%), but only being about half as important.
Training and professional development opportunities rank highly in the minds of recent graduates, suggesting that while immediate financial rewards are paramount, graduates also recognise the long-term value of skills enhancement and career advancement.
Negative perceptions of the industry as a career option may stem from a lack of understanding of these areas. There is a clear opportunity to raise awareness of the reasons why working in insurance is a great career choice.
Young talent aren’t seeing the benefits of working in insurance. The good news is that we don’t need to start from scratch. We’re already offering what they’re looking for, we just need to get better at talking to them about it.
