Sompo Canopius AG (“Sompo Canopius”) today announces the appointment of Andy Fynn as Mining Engineer. He will report to Spencer Pearce, Head of Heavy Industry. Andy’s role is to support the heavy industry function in particular by sharing best practice with brokers and clients, and working with them to fully assess risk from a qualified and experienced viewpoint.
Andy is a chartered mining engineer with nearly 35 years of global experience in the mining industry. He joins Sompo Canopius from Hawcroft Consulting International, whose UK branch he set up in 2013. His recent focus has been on servicing the mining industry in the Northern Hemisphere, carrying out risk surveys for underground and surface mines for both multinational and individual mine operators across multiple commodities.
