Sydney, 6 January 2026 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tesh Patel as Head of Distribution for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), effective 6 January 2026.
Tesh brings more than 20 years of experience in insurance leadership, portfolio management, and distribution strategy across Australia, Asia and the UK. Most recently, Tesh served as Managing Director at Delta Insurance Australia, where he established and grew the business from the ground up, opening offices in Sydney and Brisbane, launching innovative products, and securing strategic partnerships with major networks.
Prior to Delta, Tesh held senior positions at Allianz and IAG, where he managed portfolios exceeding $1 billion, and delivered significant performance improvements.
In this new role, Tesh will lead Canopius’ distribution strategy across ANZ, focusing on strengthening relationships across business partners, expanding market presence, and delivering innovative solutions to clients. Tesh will be based in Sydney and report to Paul Hackett, Head of Distribution and Marine, APAC & MENA, and Andrew Ziolkowski, Country Head of Australia & Pacific and Head of Insurance, APAC.
