London, 16 February 2026 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, today announces two senior appointments within its expanding Natural Resources team, effective immediately: Nicholas Whettem as Head of Power and Renewables, based in London, and Namrata Soni as Energy & Construction Underwriter based in Sydney, Australia.
Nicholas will lead the development of Canopius’ portfolio as Head of Power and Renewables. He joins from Zurich, where he served as a senior underwriter in power generation and sustainable energy. He also brings extensive London Market experience, having previously managed MS Amlin’s Energy & Industry underwriting portfolio. Nicholas will report to Alois Rouffiac, Chief Underwriting Officer UK.
Namrata joins from Chubb Insurance Australia, where she was a senior underwriter specialising in construction, energy, and power generation. She will report to Andrew Ziolkowski, Country Head of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
These appointments reinforce Canopius’ commitment to building market-leading expertise across all classes within the newly created Natural Resources team.
