London, 15 October 2025 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, is pleased to announce that it has hired Rachel Webber in the newly created role of Head of Reinsurance, UK.
Rachel will report to Aloïs Rouffiac, Canopius’ UK Chief Underwriting Officer and Active Underwriter.
Rachel is a senior reinsurance professional with extensive experience in both technical and underwriting functions. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President, Head of Non-Marine at Trans Re. Her career is marked by a blend of underwriting leadership and strategic project execution.
Reinsurance is a strategic focus for Canopius, with growth ambitions in the UK that complement its reinsurance offerings alongside Bermuda and APAC. Canopius has proved its commitment to investing in reinsurance, as evidenced by the recent expansion of its Casualty Treaty business and entry into the Aviation Treaty market in London.
Rachel will be responsible for evaluating Canopius’ UK Reinsurance portfolio to further develop the company’s value proposition and excellent services. She will also spearhead client engagement efforts to ensure that partners have a comprehensive understanding of Canopius’ reinsurance offerings, positioning the company as a complete and practical solution that remains top of mind.
