Sydney – 21 May 2025 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty (re)insurer, today announced the appointment of Mark Butterworth as Underwriter – Professional Lines, based in Melbourne.
With more than 20 years of experience underwriting Professional Lines business, Mark brings deep technical expertise and an extensive distribution network across Directors & Officers (D&O) and Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance. He joins Canopius from DUAL Australia, where he established a strong reputation for delivering meaningful solutions and building trusted broker relationships in the financial lines sector.
In his new role, Mark will report to Rob Barnum, Underwriter – Professional Lines. Mark will be responsible for driving the growth of Canopius’ Professional Lines portfolio in Melbourne, with a particular focus on Open Market opportunities in D&O and PI. His appointment marks a key step in strengthening Canopius’ presence in Melbourne and supporting the broader expansion of the Professional Lines portfolio across Australia.
