Chicago, 29 October 2025 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, today announces John Tiesi as Head of Financial Lines, US, effective 29 October, 2025.
John brings more than 25 years of experience in financial and professional liability underwriting, with deep expertise in supporting financial and commercial institutions across the middle market. He joins Canopius from Marsh, where he spent nearly 16 years in senior leadership roles, most recently serving as QSG FINPRO National Practice Leader. Prior to that, he held positions including Managing Director and Senior Vice President within Marsh’s FINPRO practice. Earlier in his career, John spent almost nine years at Zurich North America as a Senior Underwriting Specialist for financial lines.
In his new role, John will lead the Financial Lines portfolio across Canopius’ US operations. He’ll be responsible for shaping underwriting strategy, building out product capabilities, and working closely with distribution and operations teams to deliver practical, client-focused solutions.
