Canopius ILS has the expertise to market and structure these transactions into investment grade assets primarily through its Bermudan-based Special Purpose Insurers (SPIs). We opened for business in 2018, and since then Canopius ILS has delivered above-market returns to investors across a range of trades by aligning investor returns with that of the underwriter.
The Canopius Group has extensive experience of managing capital for third parties, principally through backing for our Lloyd’s syndicates. For example, in 2017, Canopius ceded US$392m of gross premium to third parties via a variety of deal structures and across a wide range of business classes.
