We’re delighted that Bella Donegan, Head of Heavy Industry at Canopius, has been named Young Underwriter of the Year at this year’s Insurance Insider Honours Awards, which took place at Old Billingsgate on 2 September.
Bella is known across the market for her expertise in the mining, metals and chemical sector, not only bringing unrivalled knowledge of the risks, but also the enthusiasm and dedication she brings to every broker and client relationship. The award reflects not just her natural underwriting talent but the work ethic and drive she has to ensure that she always delivers the best possible outcomes for brokers and clients with tailored solutions.
Beyond this, Bella has taken on a mentoring role, facilitating learning workshops for young brokers with engineers on her team to build their knowledge of the segment. It’s a mark of an underwriter who is already shaping the next generation of talent in the market.
